Heart Path Coach Newsletter June 2010
If you are both scared and excited you are probably following your heart. It’s not always easy in our world to hear our heart and to see our path. When we are busy living the day to day decisions, inertia can set in. Before we know it, we have drifted away from what gives us joy. It’s exciting “for me” to share, “yes, I’m making big changes. I have quit my job and launched something new!” It’s just as important to hear our heart even if it says, keep the course, steady as she goes! No matter if you are making big changes or staying steady on course the key lies in finding joy where you are. When we are not enjoying our life, it’s time to get quiet and listen to the changes our heart encourages us to take. Following our heart is indicative to following our bliss. What brings joy and fulfillment to ourselves and others? What do we have to share and give? How can we be of service to the world?

The Story of Jumping Mouse
The story of Jumping Mouse is an old native american tale handed down from generation to generation. It’s an allegory with mirrors to reflect our cycles of life. Stories within stories of hidden analogies come alive as we, children of all ages resonate.
It all begins with the awareness of “little mouse” that peeks his curiosity to pay attention to what he hears. Before long his curiosity turns to courage and we, the observer, know he is well on his “heart path”.The magical power of his new name “Jumping Mouse”, gives abilities, strengths and skills never before attained. However, the most important asset being a new perspective that bolsters his passion to experience new possibilities! He meets friends and guides that support, encourage and inspire him and we know he is not alone on his path. These interactions with community are priceless! The climatic deluge condenses down to choice. Compassion and empathy swell in the heart of Jumping Mouse and his decisions are relatively quick. He is after all a mouse! He decides to share his gifts and karma is kind. The outcomes are magically surreal. Each choice leads him closer to his ideal. Of course like all good stories there is a twist in the end that I have no intention of “ratting” out! The synergism between the spiritual quest of Jumping Mouse, life and coaching are synonymous. All have varying degrees of creating, integrating and evolving ourself!I encourage you to find the mirror of your life. Consider reading the story to find yourself within. What stage are you in? What would be helpful for you on your journey: Trust? Awareness? Courage? New Perspective? Passion? Community? Choice? Giving your gifts? Empowerment? Evolving your true self? How could you add a little jumping mouse into your life today? You can either buy a version of the story by clicking on the authors: John Steptoe or Mary Elizabeth Marlow and/or click on the link below and read it for free: Childstoryhour.com
Create
We create all the time. With every story or perspective we label and think our reality into being. If we change our stories we change our lives. Amy Tan from a Ted presentations on creativity says, “out of nothing comes something.” To create we bring something into being. It takes presence for the process of creativity. In order to be present we automatically are linked to no time, no space and no thing. When we tap into this place and let go of our thinking and old stories of identification we are in a state of grace where anything is possible. As we hold this space the miracles unfold and creation begins until we notice something and tell another story. What are you noticing? What stories are you telling? What are you creating?
Integrate
Unite, unify, incorporate, meld and combine are all words to describe the integration process. It can be about integrating something we have learned in our lives and/or connecting with community. I read a blog by Lynne McTaggart regarding walls we build from countries to gated communities. It has me thinking. What walls do we build to try to protect ourselves? How would you benefit by expanding your connection to community? Who would benefit from including in your community?
Evolve
I have recently found theTransformation Game. It’s been an honor to play several times with different groups of friends. Every time we play I’m blown away how awesome and interconnected our lives are. How serendipitous Spirit is as we open our hearts. Insights, “Aha moments” and truth become revealed not just during the game but days and weeks afterwards. It’s a dynamic alchemical interchange. An amazing way to transform and evolve our lives in a fun and connected way!
Life Coaching ~ Is About Life
It’s no secret I am passionate about coaching! Life Coaching concentrates on life! Sometimes the obvious is inspiring. All topics relevant to life and our heart path are open for coaching. As we focus on areas we want to create, integrate and evolve we become empowered to live “on purpose.” Coaching is a way to support your ability to move forward. I believe in the inherent ability of people to find their own answers. Being present, holding space, active listening, penetrating questions all provide shifts in perspective and allow people to hear their own internal wisdom and follow their heart path.
Community ~ Inclusivity
I recently travelled to Texas and stopped into the Whole Foods in Dallas to drop off a few flyers on their community board. When speaking with the customer service manager he said they did not have a community board to post things because if they let one person post they would have to let everyone. Shocked and dumbfounded I felt my head tilt and eyes squint as if it would help me comprehend. It didn’t! The whole point for community is that it provides a place for inclusivity for all to participate. Fear keeps us secluded and isolated. We are afraid of those who are different from us. It explained why I needed to make my exit from Texas long ago! I was grateful the Whole Foods in Portland believes in community! This experience has stayed with me and caused me to rethink how am I stuck in my comfort zone and missing out on including others in community.
Well Being~ A Message From Kale
While processing kale to take with me on a trip, I began to feel very grateful for kale. All of a sudden I got it! I realized the energy the kale was storing from the sun is in the form of plant tissue full of chlorophyll which is like a battery of light for cells. Light from the sun, our most precious commodity to give us the energy of life. The amount of light energy we radiate is directly related to eating bright, vivid colorful plants. The more vibrant the color the more nutrition. Life gives life. Jewell, one of my favorite artists has a song called, A Life Uncommon she write and sings: “to live is to give”. Eat foods that are alive and nourishing so you can give life to yourself and others! What is your food telling you?
